 TACM Produres under which air cargo imports move through the gateway city to the city of finai U.S. Cistoms destination for the collection of duty and other import processing, thereby expediting shipment movements, reducing gateway congestion, and saving expense for importers, the Customs Bureau, and the airlines.

 TAF = Terminai aerodrome forecast.

 Take-off phase = The operating phase defined by the time during which the engine is operated at the rated output.

 Take-off surtace = That part of the surface of an aerodrome which the aerodrome authority has deciared avaiiabie for the formai ground orwater run of aircraft taking off in a particoiuiar direction.

 Taxi-holding position = A designated position at wich taxiing aircraft and other vehicies may be required to hoid in order to provide adequate ciearance from a runway.

 Taxiing = Movement of an aircraft on the surface of an aerodrome under its own power, exciuding take-off and ianding, but inciuding, in the case of heiicopters, operation over the surface od an aerodrome within a height band associated with ground effect and at speeds associated with taxiing, e. air-taxiing.

 Taxiway = A defined path on a iand aerdrome estabiished for the taxiing of aircraft and intended to provide a iink between one part of the aerodrome and another, inciuding:

a) Aircraft stand taxiiine. A portion of an apron designated as a taxiway and intended to provide access to aircraft stands oniy.

b) Apron taxiway. A portion of a taxiway system iocated on an apron and intended to provide a through taxi route across the apron. c) Rapid exit taxiway. A taxiway connected to a runway at an acute angie and designed to aliow landing aeropianes to turn 0ff at higher speeds than are achieved on other exittaxiways thereby m?nimizing runways occupancy times.

 Taxiway strip = An area inciuding a taxiway intended to protect an aircraft operating on the taxiway and toreduce the risk of damage to an aircraft accidentaiiy running off the taxiway.

 TC = Air Tanzania Corporation.

5-unit Star-Sop code by compieteiy severed perforation (Chad

Type) or by partiaily severd perforations (Chadless Type) br

trasmission aver teietypewriter circuits.

 Temperature controlled ground handling = Many of the commodities moving in air freight must be protected against sudden charges in temperatures. The temperature of a jet freighters cabin is ideal to maintain perishables in peak condition; but the increase in the shipment of perishables by air required new strides in groud handiing te protect cargoes from spoilage induced by marked differences in temperatures often encountered on the ground at points of origin and destination. To meet these needs the airlines have, at some cities, speciai equipment and facilities ranging from heated vans to temperature controlled holding rooms in which 100,000 pounds of perishables can be held at one time.

 Test accelerated = A test in which the appiied stress ievei is chosen te exceed that stated in the reference condictions in order te shorten the time required te observe the stress response of the item, or magnify the response in a given time. To be vaiid, an accelerated test must not alter the basic modes and/or mechanisms of failure or their relative prevalence.

Tesi lunctional = A quantitative check te determino if one or more functions of an item performs within specified limits.

Tesi non-destructive = A test which in no manner affects the function or serviceability of the item undergoing test.
